On Friday 22nd November Year 2 had an exciting Victorian Day! It was a fantastic day where we all dressed up and got into role as real life Victorians. We recited poems, made Victorian peg dolls and even had a visit from Chertsey Museum. Please see the website “Gallery” for more pictures.

Year 2 had a wonderful morning teaching their parents all about multiplication during shared learning!

The children have been very busy carrying out many different activities linked to Anti-Bullying this week. These have included writing friendship recipes, designing and decorating our own odd socks bunting, creating friendship and anti-bullying superheroes and exploring creative ways to highlight who we can talk to if bullying occurs. On Tuesday we also took part in ‘Odd Socks Day’ and saw both children and staff accessorising their outfits with some very colourful and fun sock combinations! We ended the week sharing our learning in our weekly sharing assembly with Miss Morris. Please see the website “Gallery” for more pictures

Thank you to all the children who entered our Design a Vegetable Competition. Children who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd received a Certificate and a good selection of vegetable stickers. The 1st prize design has been sent to the Surrey Catering Team who will choose the overall winner.

The children in Duckling class were discussing baking at lunch time. After lunch Miss Skinner showed them a clip from the ‘Great British Bake Off’ and the children decided to have their own. They quickly began designing different cakes and used playdough to make their creations. All the cakes were so brilliant everyone was awarded ‘star baker’. Please see the website “Gallery” for more pictures.

In Reception we have been reading the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’. The children have particularly enjoyed dissecting pumpkins and cutting their own vegetables in the role play area. This week we will be cooking our own soup to share with parents at our Harvest event.

Leopard Class had a great afternoon building dens at Forest School! Please see the website “Gallery” for more pictures.

We have been so impressed with how well the children have settled into their new Reception classes. This week they have enjoyed exploring both the indoor and outdoor classrooms and making new friends.
