Spring 16 Term Summary

By | 2015-2016 School Year | No Comments

Dear Parents and Carers,

Yet another very busy Half Term has flown by and as usual everyone has been working hard.

Children have been on a trip to Marwell Zoo, worn their pyjamas to school and had stories with hot chocolate, held a Mothers Day tea party and the School Council have cleaned for the Queen ! Our concert by the Rocksteady children was fantastic and I was amazed at just how much they have learnt. There is never a dull moment at Manby Lodge !

Thank you to the FoML who have organized a quiz for the parents, a disco for the Reception children and arranged for the Easter Bunny to hide eggs for our children who did a fantastic job of finding them !

We say goodbye to Mrs Cox who is a member of our Admin Team and we would like to thank her for all of her hard work and support that she has provided for our children and staff over the years. We wish her lots of luck in her new job and hope that she will come back and visit us soon.

Thank you once again for all the support you provide for the school and I wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Creasey

March 2016 Update

By | FOML | No Comments

We’re well and truly into Spring term, the daffs are out and the children have been helping raise money by enjoying themselves during our sponsored Nature Walk last month. They did an incredible job and raised £2,170.30 (excl. gift aid). Well done to our top 3 fundraisers – Cameron Elmer (Goslings) who raised £100, Nevaeh Dolton (Cygnets) who raised £70 and Joshua Philips (Goslings) who raised £60, we hope you enjoyed your prizes.

We’ve had 2 cake bakes and at the moment IGUANA class are still in the lead taking £177. Will Hedgehogs take over with their bake on Friday 18 March?

Year 1 had their disco and danced till they dropped. Reception have theirs on Wednesday 16 March.

We also hosted our Annual Quiz Night, which was a roaring success. Drinks were drunk, pizza consumed, pictures painted, cards played right and the odd question answered correctly. Team Goonies were the Victors, having a Kinder toy already made may have helped (their words). £1,080 was raised. Thank you so much to Neil & Helen Waddington, Simon & Athalie Tarr and Toni Reynoldson for pulling it all together.

Our totaliser at the moment is now at a dizzying…
9880.51

Since September we’ve spent money on tandem bikes for Reception, a tab charge unit and over £2,000 on the new library. Most of the money raised will be going towards a new Canopy to give our children shelter from the rain (and maybe the sun).

Autumn 15 Term Summary

Dear Parents and Carers,

Another term has flown by and both the children and staff have worked exceptionally hard.

I have had the pleasure of sharing both the Christmas plays and the Carol Concert with you and your children. They were absolutely wonderful and ticket sales from the performances raised over
£400. Thank you for your generous donations, which will be sent to the Children In Need Appeal.

A fantastic time was had by all at the Christmas Fair. It was a wonderful event; Mulled Wine, Christmas Carols and Father Christmas with his Reindeer were just a few of the highlights. It truly was a “Winter Wonderland.” The incredible amount of £3,754.66 was raised. Well done and a huge thanks to the FOML.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support that you have given the school over the last term. I am very proud to be the Head Teacher at Manby Lodge. I look forward to seeing you all on January 6th and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
